Nagulendran is new KBS sec-gen

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 2 — K. Nagulendran has been appointed as the new Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), effective today, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali announced.

Prior to his latest appointment, Nagulendran, 53, was Deputy Secretary-General (Planning and Science Culture) at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

In a statement, Mohd Zuki said Nagulendran’s appointment was based on his qualifications, leadership attributes and extensive experience and knowledge in the development of future generations.

“I am confident that with the experience and credibility he has to lead KBS, he can carry out his responsibilities with integrity and professionalism in an effort to fulfil the aspirations of Madani Malaysia towards producing patriotic, united, disciplined and sports-cultured youths in the interest of national unity and development,” he said.

Nagulendran has served in the civil service for 28 years as an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer starting on January 25, 1995, and throughout his service, has held several positions in human resources, policy planning and strategic technology at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
