11,000 low-, medium-cost JMB requested to register e-Ceria, eCOB

AMPANG JAYA, March 5 — The state government is asking for the cooperation of about 11,000 Joint Management Bodies (JMB) of low- and medium-cost strata apartments in the state to register with the Baik Pulik Negeri Berkebajikan (e-Ceria) scheme and the Building Commissioner’s Unit (eCOB).

State executive councillor for housing and urban welfare Rodziah Ismail said that so far, less than 10 per cent of the 12,000 JMB in the state have done so.

“Sometimes, the problems experienced by apartment residents which include broken roofs, damaged elevators, garbage rooms that do not function properly, are not channelled to the state government.

“If you register with e-Ceria and eCOB scheme, JMB will be able to provide a comprehensive overview to the state government of how much budget is required for repairs because previously, it was only a small amount. Those who have registered eCOB need to register e-Ceria too,” she said when met after officiating the Selangor Liveable Physical City Project (SDGs11) at Cemara Apartments 1 and 2 in Taman Bukit Segar, here yesterday.

According to her, when a comprehensive overview of the amount of allocation required is obtained, the planning and governance will be better.

“With the e-Ceria scheme there will be no more issues of information not arriving and so on after this,” she said.

The e-CERIA scheme was created with the objective of repairing property damage in low- and medium-cost apartments in Selangor.

eCOB acts as a centralised system to digitally store all data related to stratified development areas, JMB information management and the Management Corporation (MC).
