SHAH ALAM, March 9 — The Sungai Penchala footpath and recreational trial in Section 14, Petaling Jaya is open to the public today.
Bukit Gasing assemblyman R Rajiv said the 700-metre-long route along Sungai Penchala was upgraded in July 2022 before being fully completed at the end of February.
“This route connects the Asia Jaya Light Rail Transit (LRT) station to the commercial centre of Section 19, Petaling Jaya.
“The construction (of this route) provides a peaceful scenery and improves connectivity for public transport users,” he said when contacted today.
The project under the Selangor Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) is also the first project of its kind involving an implicated cost of RM400,000.
Rajiv said the footpath project is one of Bukit Gasing state constituency’s main targeted projects which aims to improve the facilities for footpaths and bicycle users.
“I hope that in the future, this route can connect Sungai Penchala from Damansara Intan in Section 19 to Millennium Square in Section 14, Petaling Jaya,” he said.
This morning, Rajiv together with DID Selangor deputy district engineer Ezman Embok Zrik inspected the route.
