KPDN launches Baucar Rahmah at Festival Usahawan Gempak

SHAH ALAM, April 8 — The Domestic Trade and Costs of Living Ministry launched the Baucar Rahmah initiative, aimed at help Malaysians regardless of their income or living standards, at the Festival Usahawan Gempak yesterday.

The launch was officiated by its deputy minister Fuziah Salleh, with state executive councillor for housing, urban well-being and entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail in attendance.

Worth RM40,000, the initiative will see the distribution of vouchers by the state government via the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).

It is meant to help alleviate the burden of buyers in purchasing Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparation goods at the festival. The initiative is expected to benefit up to 5,000 visitors who come for the festival.

Speaking at the festival, which runs from April 7 to April 9 at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam, Fuziah expressed her wholehearted support for Baucar Rahmah, as it is in line with the implementation of the Rahmah Initiative by KPDN.

“Such initiatives not only empower local entrepreneurs but also have a positive impact on the country’s economic development.

“I believe a festival like this can help increase the income of local entrepreneurs through purchases made by local residents, by offering products and goods that have rahmah value to benefit those in need in fulfilling their needs for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” she said.

The vouchers will be distributed to visitors at the main entrance of Festival
Usahawan Gempak, on a first-come-first-serve basis. It is expected to benefit visitors and merchants by reducing costs and maximising their spending value.

On her part, Rodziah said Baucar Rahmah indirectly benefits those in need of aid in completing their Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparations, which falls on April 21 this year.

“Baucar Rahmah can also serve as a motivation for traders to be more competitive in an increasingly challenging economy.

“The state government is committed to helping entrepreneurs advance their businesses while creating more job opportunities for Selangor residents. We welcome all entrepreneurs to seize this opportunity and strive for success in their businesses,” she said in her speech at the launch.

Visitors can use the RM8 Baucar Rahmah to purchase products from over 150 local brands including SimplySiti, Farm Fresh, Elrah Exclusive, Hush Puppies, Wonderlab (CUCKOO), CK Rahim, Obermain, Samu Giken, Inai Scarves, Absolut Chocolat, and several other local brands.

They can also use the RM5 Baucar Rahmah to purchase a variety of dishes from 10 food truck vendors participating in the festival.
