MBI to distribute Rahmah Plats vouchers at pasar malam after Aidilfitri

SHAH ALAM, April 25 — Rahmah Platform Selangor (Plats) vouchers worth RM5 each will continue to be given to pasar malam shoppers after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI corporate social communications head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the vouchers will be distributed in rural areas, including at Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Langat.

“To this end, MBI has prepared a RM50,000 allocation, which will allow for up to 10,000 vouchers to be distributed to pasar malam visitors.

“Our goal is to help residents face the issue of the rising costs of living, while simultaneously helping traders generate income,” he told SelangorKini yesterday.

In conjunction with Ramadan this year, MBI distributed Rahmah Plats vouchers to 10,000 bazaar visitors.

The vouchers went to shoppers at the Ramadan bazaars in Section 7 and Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam, as well at USJ 4 Subang Jaya, Damansara Damai, and Cyberjaya Park.

Prior to this, the state government also encouraged food traders to participate in the Menu Rahmah initiative priced at RM5, after it was introduced by the Federal government.

The initiative is aimed at helping the less able obtain meals at a reasonable price.
