SHAH ALAM, April 22 — The following is the special address by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari to Muslims celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri:
I wish all Muslims Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, especially in the state of Selangor Darul Ehsan.
The conclusion of Ramadan holds a thousand and one meanings for the faithful, for all of us seek Laylat al-Qadr and carries out various virtues in pursuit of mardhatillah.
Alhamdulillah, for I was able to witness prosperity and moderation during the final nights of Ramadan in mosques throughout the state.
To mark the victory and return to fitrah, the true meaning of Aidilfitri, let us continue in the good works carried out during the Ramadan holy month, like caring for the poor, the orphaned, and those who are less able.
Such moderation ought to be continued, and display not only via our actions but also via our common sense and thoughts, so our children may also inherit a similar culture and its attendant morals, thus producing a dignified and visionary generation.
Benefit wholly from the bonds of fellowship and ukhuwwah that we have built over the years, as Islam commands us to do.
Alhamdulillah and thanks should be given for the successful performance of the state government’s revenue collection throughout this administration and in the first three months of this year.
To this, I have announced the Kita Selangor 2023 Insentif Khas Aidilfitri, which not only includes a month’s salary to state civil servants but also to the Federal government’s civil servants including teachers, the police, and others who serve in Selangor. They will benefit from this incentive, by as much as RM200.
Once again, on behalf of the Selangor state government, I wish you all Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. I sincerely apologise for any of my shortcomings and remain determined to continue in providing the best for one and all. Taqaballallah minna wa minkum.
