SHAH ALAM, April 7 — Some 45 housewives, single mothers, and SPM graduates took part in the orchid arrangement programme organised by Pusat Wanita Berdaya (PWB) in the Permatang state constituency on Wednesday (April 5).
Its state assemblyman Rozana Zainal Abidin said the free programme offers training for participants in the art of flower arrangement, which in turn is an opportunity for them to generate income.
“We hope the participants will be able to make the best use of the knowledge they gained, so they can help improve their family’s economic conditions,” she said in a Facebook post.
Rozana monitored the programme as it took place at Perpustakaan Desa Taman Manickavasagam in Kuala Selangor.
Running from 10am to 1pm, it was overseen by Permatang PWB coordinator R Kalaivany.
PWB was established in all 56 state constituencies in 2015, for the implementation of women’s empowerment programs.
Asides from flower arrangements, its other activities include handicraft workshops, sewing, cooking, and making cottage industry products.
