SHAH ALAM, April 8 — The development of the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA) is expected to play a pivotal role in driving athletic potential, with its world-class facilities, said state executive councillor for sports Mohd Khairuddin Othman.
He said the complex will not only serve to replace the Shah Alam Stadium but also provide a sporting environment for all athletes.
“I am confident KSSA’s construction will have a positive impact, due to its facilities and the space, for our athletes to train there.
“More importantly, Selangor can foster the appropriate atmosphere for sports, as the area is suited to be developed as a state sports centre,” Mohd Khairuddin said.
The councillor was speaking at the 20th Selangor Sukma contingent’s victory incentives ceremony yesterday, held at Dewan Raja Muda Musa in the Selangor Youth and Culture Complex.
He added that KSSA’s development discussion is now in its final stages, before being officially launched by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
Prior to this, Amirudin said KSSA’s redevelopment will take place over an estimated 76.08 hectares of land and will commence in the first quarter of 2023.
