E-Mobility Asia event from Nov 22-24 to showcase EV industry

KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 — The inaugural E-Mobility Asia (EMA), a business-to-business event for the electric vehicles (EV) industry and innovative technologies, will be held on November 22-24, 2023, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to showcase the growth and new sustainable business opportunities the industry has to offer.

The event aims to raise greater awareness and open up various business prospects to companies that want to get into a promising industry that will be in high demand for tomorrow’s automotive industry, said Derrisen Sdn Bhd project director Vicky Tan.

“The show will be a significant step to accelerate the growth of the EV industry and to support Malaysia’s goals of achieving (net) zero carbon (emissions in order to address) climate change and (achieve) a sustainable green economy,” she said at the EMA preview and CEO business luncheon here today.

Meanwhile, the Electric Vehicle Association of Malaysia (Evam) president Datuk Dennis Chuah said EMA will be a terrific opportunity for the EV community and potential investors to see the full business potential of this industry and be a catalyst for the transition to electric transport.

“The trade show will be very significant to showcase innovations, local and from abroad, driving EVs to be more attractive and affordable as the world pivots towards a greener and cleaner future.

“EMA will be an eye-opening experience on the potential of the industry in Malaysia, where we stand in this sector and how we can capitalise on the local capabilities and resources to build a strong and sustainable EV ecosystem,” he said.

According to a statement, EMA will have a diverse range of over 150 exhibitors from 25 countries, featuring the latest electrification technologies and innovations including battery technology and charging systems in the EV industry.

It is expected to attract 12,000 local and overseas trade visitors, especially from Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

In conjunction with the show, Evam will be organising a two-day conference featuring keynote speakers from Asean countries who will share their insights and outlook on the direction of EV in the region, it said.

Organised by Derrisen with Evam as a strategic partner, the event will be open to trade visitors on the first two days and to the public on the third day. Visitors can also book free EV test drives during the show.
