Integrity, good governance forms the basis of state administration — MB

SHAH ALAM, May 17 — Integrity and good governance are crucial, as they form the foundation of the state government’s service structure to the people.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said governance with integrity is a pillar which must be retained, as Selangor moves towards digitalisation and smart administration.

“We must not forget that integrity and good governance, as well as services which are beneficial to the people, are still important for the government’s service structure.

“In addition, we must ensure the services delivered provide benefit, convenience, relief and continuity to the lives of the people,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking during the presentation ceremony for the Outstanding Service Award, the Outstanding Service Medal 2022, and Anugerah Jasamu Dikenang 2023, to state civil servants at Concorde Hotel yesterday.

He added the ability to expedite and launch the transition of the state administration towards digitalisation will depend on the preparedness of its employees.

“How to enculturate digitalisation will be the biggest challenge. We must learn to adapt and prepare for digitisation, as technology moves more rapidly than we can dream of or imagine in our minds.

“Within a few years, digitisation will be fully implemented, and this requires the right culture and habits among us,” Amirudin said.
