SHAH ALAM, May 3 — 12 families in Kampung Koskan Tambahan, Serendah, who were instructed by the High Court in Shah Alam to vacate the area at the end of last month, have been provided with assistance in obtaining rental homes.

Batang Kali state constituency coordinator Saifuddin Shafi Muhammad said an agreement has also been reached with the developer for the transfer to be postponed to May 11, until such time a rental house is found.

He added that discussions will be held with the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) to purchase Rumah SelangorKu units, as stated by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari earlier on.

“The developer and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) have also agreed to re-install the electricity supply which was disconnected to make way for the demolition of six houses, whose residents had moved out.

“In the event of any changes, we will loan a generator set for the use of the 12 families,” Saifuddin said in a Facebook post today.

Previously, Amirudin said the state government is prepared to serve as an intermediary and ensure the problem, including the fate of the residents, can be properly resolved.

The eviction notice was issued on April 18, ordering the residents to leave before 9am on May 2, after developer Panca Resmi Sdn Bhd made an application on March 30.

Kampung Koskan Tambahan’s action committee then appealed to the Menteri Besar for his intervention in the matter.
