MPHS declares Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri a success, gathering over 10,000 residents

SHAH ALAM, May 1 — The Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri open house programme in Hulu Selangor on April 29 has been considered a success by its local authority, as over 10,000 guests were in attendance.

The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) extended its highest thanks to all councillors, employees, departments, agencies, and the offices of the state constituencies, who took part in realising the programme at Padang Taman Awam Hulu Bernam.

“Not forgetting all the residents of Hulu Selangor, who attended the #KitaSelangor Aidilfitri Open House. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin,” it said in a Facebook post.

Running from 8pm to 11pm, the open house featured over 30 stalls serving a variety of dishes including grilled lamb, satay, honey grilled chicken, lemang, rendang, flavoured cordials, and many more.

Visitors were also entertained by performances from guest artists Jay Jay and Iman Troye, as well as dances and performances by SMK Taman Bunga Raya students.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and his wife Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad attended the programme.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin attended Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri at Taman Sri Kerayong in Klang yesterday.

Arriving at 8.44pm and dressed in a white Baju Melayu and white Baju Kurung, the royal couple were welcomed by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and his wife Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad.

His Royal Highness spent over two hours dining with guests and watching the performances of artists Siti Nordiana and Haziq, and the cultural dance performance by SMK Batu Unjur students.

Before departing, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin presented duit raya to the guest children.

Similar to Hulu Selangor, the Klang open house saw over 10,000 guests in attendance, with its dishes jointly prepared by local residents from several nearby villages.

Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri began on Friday (April 28), and will continue on May 5 at Tapak Agora Night Market in Taman Sri Nanding, Hulu Langat, moving on to Sungai Buloh’s pasar malam site in Petaling on May 6, and to Taman Perwira Sijangkang in Kuala Langat on May 7.

Other locations include Dataran Tanah Lesen in Parit Baru, Sabak Bernam on May 12, Padang Awam Bukit Badong in Kuala Selangor on May 13, and finally at Uptown Sri Gombak on May 14, which Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to attend.
