SHAH ALAM, May 17 — Emergency repair works on a burst pipe will affect the water supply for 99 areas in the Klang/Shah Alam and Kuala Selangor regions next week, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd.

In a statement, it said the repairs on the pipe at Jalan Bukit Cerakah in Bandar Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor, will begin at 9am on Monday, May 22, and is expected to be completed by 3am the following day.

“The emergency repair works involve a main distribution pipe with a diameter of 2,200mm and a large-scale distribution area. Therefore, the repair works and recovery period will require a longer time. However, if the leak becomes critical, the emergency repair works will begin earlier than the date mentioned earlier.

“The water supply will be distributed to consumers in stages when the repair works are completed and the main water supply distribution system has been stabilised. It is expected to fully recover by 9pm on Wednesday, May 24,” Air Selangor said.

The duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in affected areas will vary, depending on the location of the consumer’s premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.

“Air Selangor would like to advise the affected customers to store an adequate water supply and use water prudently during the unscheduled water supply disruption period.

“Consumers can also obtain information on this unscheduled water supply disruption from time to time via the Air Selangor app, on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter, or contact Air Selangor at 15300.

“Any questions and complaints can be submitted to the Help Centre on the website www.airselangor.com and Air Selangor app,” it said.
