HULU LANGAT, May 5 — The Kita Madani programme in the Hulu Langat district saw various government agencies, the private sector, volunteers, and the local community participate in rewang, or collaborative cooking, activities.

The Malaysian Information Department (JaPen) Selangor director Normaizatulakmal Tujad said this is to prepare food for the Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri open house later tonight.

“The Kita Madani Daerah Hulu Langat programme is focused on the rewang activity of cooking nasi himpit and kuah kacang, for tonight’s Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri open house.

“It is a field programme involving JaPen Selangor to create togetherness, and build harmony between the leaders and the community,” she said.

Normaizatulakmal was speaking to SelangorKini during the programme at Rock 9 (Agora Night Market) in Taman Sri Nanding, Dusun Tua.

She added that Selangor JaPen has been tasked to carry out the four Kita Madani programmes, in conjunction with Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri.

“JaPen Selangor will implement two more Kita Madani programmes, in the Kuala Selangor and Petaling districts, after having carried them out in Klang and Hulu Langat today.

“Through it, we serve as a support system to meet local leaders and the community, in which leaders have the opportunity to explain the initiatives for the people.

“In such instances, we want the people to see the leaders’ concern for them, whenever they go to the field and pay close attention to their problems,” Normaizatulakmal said.
