SHAH ALAM, June 23 — Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) Selangor chairman and Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has announced that a new manifesto, detailing the coalition’s pledges for Selangor citizens, is in the works ahead of the coming election.

Amirudin, who is also the Selangor Menteri Besar, said these pledges will be revealed after the nominations for Harapan candidates for the upcoming state poll have been announced.

When asked whether his current administration has fulfilled its 2018 election manifesto, Amirudin clarified that Harapan did not present specific pledges at the time.

However, he stressed that they have gone above and beyond expectations, particularly considering the extraordinary measures implemented to navigate the state through the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“While the 2018 manifesto did not outline specific details, the current administration’s track record demonstrates that we have surpassed expectations.

“This is thanks to the proactive initiatives implemented during the pandemic and post-pandemic periods,” he said to the press following the conclusion of the monthly meeting for state civil servants and the launch of the Selangor Report Card at Dewan Jubli Perak auditorium at the Selangor State Secretariat Building, here today.

Amirudin also admitted that his administration could not solve all the problems that emerged during his tenure but pointed to the many reforms and major plans that have been enacted to ensure the socio-economic growth of the state.

This includes the Raw Water Security Scheme (SJAM), First Selangor Plan (RS-1), and various other people-oriented schemes and initiatives.

The Selangor state assembly was officially dissolved today, paving the way for the state election to be held within 60 days.
