SHAH ALAM, June 21 — The Rawang state constituency has allocated RM400,000 to build an open hall in Kampung Sungai Bakau, which is slated to begin in August.

Its state assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat said the project will utilise funds under Projek Selangor Penyayang (PSP), with over 100,000 residents including those from three nearby housing areas set to benefit from the hall.

“The construction is scheduled to begin in August, and this week we will visit the proposed site location. It will feature a basketball court and other basic facilities.

“The proposal to build the hall came about due to the lack of similar facilities in the area. It can also be utilised by residents from nearby areas including Country Home, Saujana Rawang, and Kota Emerald,” he said when contacted.

Chua added that local residents can also use the hall for weddings, celebrations, and various community programmes, at an affordable rental rate.

Meanwhile, RM10,000 has also been allocated to several Majlis Perwakilan Ketua Kampung in Rawang, office equipment expenses like computers and stationery.

“We are also carrying out projects to restore the silat arena in Batu Arang, the futsal court in Bukit Rawang Jaya, and upgrades to the field in New Green Park, all of which is covered by a RM90,000 allocation,” he said.
