SHAH ALAM, June 28 — Five Selangor agencies alongside entrepreneurs from the state participated in the 2023 Penang International Halal Conference (Pihec), which ran from June 23 to June 25.

One participant, HIS Toyyiba Sdn Bhd general manager Muhammad Syaril Showkat Ali, said the programme held at Spice Arena Bayan Lepas is meant for participants to promote halal products from their respective states.

For Selangor, they include Media Selangor Sdn Bhd, Invest Selangor, Institut Penasihat dan Penyelidikan from Universiti Islam Selangor, GT Snack and Spice Distributors Sdn Bhd, and NIMS Adeliciousz Sdn Bhd.

“This is the second time the Selangor delegation has taken part in Pihec, with the response quite satisfying, particularly for entrepreneurs who are seeking to establish business-to-business (B2B) relationships.

Alhamdulillah, during the conference, one of the snack products from NIMS Adeliciousz Sdn Bhd was approached by Buroq Petrol Station and Mart to market their products in the Northern region.

“This is an achievement to be proud of for Selangor, and InsyaAllah, we will try to rope in more entrepreneurs so as to promote their halal products overseas,” he said when contacted.

Muhammad Syaril added the entrepreneurs are also looking to participate in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (Mihas), and the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS) in the future.

“Overall, entrepreneurs who participate in an event such as this have provided positive feedback, as they can establish collaborations and further develop their products,” he said.
