State polls: Traffic jams in line of sight for Harapan’s Taman Templer candidate

By Diana Abd Wahab

GOMBAK, July 31 — The issue of traffic congestion is a focal point for Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for Taman Templer Anfaal Saari, should she win the state constituency in the ongoing Selangor state election.

She said the congestion in the constituency could span as far as eight kilometres, beginning at the Caltex petrol station at Selayang Pandang and to the Rawang Bypass during rush hour, which is from 6.30am to 9.30am and from 3.30pm to 7pm on working days.

“Many Taman Templer residents work in Kuala Lumpur, and this issue impacts their well-being.

“Consequently, they have to wake up early in the morning and face the pressure of dealing with traffic congestion during their commute to and from work,” she said during a walkabout programme in Kampung Melayu Batu 16, Rawang, yesterday.

Anfaal added she is committed to continuing the efforts started by Selayang MP William Leong and Taman Templer’s immediate preceding state assemblyman Mohd Sany Hamzan in resolving the long-standing traffic issues that have proven to be a bane of the residents.

She will contest for the seat against Malaysian United Democratic Alliance’s Aida Rahman and Perikatan Nasional’s Zaidy Abdul Talib.

The Election Commission has set August 8 as the early voting date, with polling on August 12.
