Two fishermen missing in Sg Besar waters

SHAH ALAM, July 5 — Two fishermen, including an elderly man, have been reported missing in Sungai Besar waters since this evening.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Mohamadul Ehsan Mohd Zain said a distress call was received at 4.24pm.

“One victim has been identified as a 67-year-old local man while the identity of his friend is yet to be ascertained,” he said in a statement today.

A search-and-rescue operation has been launched to locate the victims in the coastal area, assisted by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA).
