Maiden PKNS entrepreneur carnival attracts young participants, students

SHAH ALAM, Aug 19 — A total of 143 young entrepreneurs, including students, are participating in the maiden three-day Selangor State Development Corporation’s (PKNS) Karnival Usahawan PKNS (KUP 2023).

PKNS deputy chief executive officer (Management and Entrepreneurship) Suhaimi Kasdon said the ongoing KUP 2023 combines entrepreneurs from four modular entrepreneurship programmes organised by the PKNS Bahagian Pembangunan Usahawan (BPU).

The entrepreneurs were selected from four entrepreneurship programmes, namely Program Tunas Niaga (PROTUNe), Program Bina Bangun Usahawan (BizUp), Program Usahawan Siswazah (Grow), and Program Usahawan Siswazah Lanjutan (Grow Plus).

“A total of 63 students from 21 schools under the PROTUNe programme and 80 entrepreneurs under the BizUp, Grow and Grow Plus programmes are participating in this carnival to allow them to explore their skills and knowledge in business,” he said while officiating KUP 2023, earlier today.

Suhaimi added 84 exhibition booths were prepared to help PROTUNe entrepreneurs to experience business first-hand, while BizUp, GROW and GROW PLUS entrepreneurs can take the opportunity to increase their product sales.

Entrepreneurs can also seek advice on sales and business guidance from trained business counsellors housed in three rooms at the Klinik Usahawan Selangor.

“The clinic is also open to visitors to get advice on entrepreneurship guidance,” he said.

PKNS, through the BPU, has implemented more than 20 entrepreneurship programmes specifically for Bumiputeras since 1995.
