MB, excos swearing-in on Monday — Istana Alam Shah

SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — The next Menteri Besar of Selangor will be sworn in on Monday (August 21), according to the royal palace.

In a statement today, the Selangor Royal Office said the oath-taking, pledge of promise, and appointment letter presentation ceremony will take place at the Balairung Seri of Istana Alam Shah in Klang, at 11am.

“Meanwhile the oath-taking, pledge of promise, and appointment letter presentation ceremony for the Selangor state executive councillors will also take place at the same venue on the same day, at 2pm,” it said.

The swearing-in for the new Menteri Besar was to have taken place shortly after the 15th Selangor State Election concluded on Saturday (August 12) but was postponed as the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj was abroad for medical treatment.

His Royal Highness, accompanied by the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, arrived home on Tuesday (August 15), where the royal couple were greeted by incumbent Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
