SHAH ALAM, Aug 30 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has distributed financial aid to 10 families whose homes were recently destroyed by fire.
In a Facebook post, the state government agency said the assistance was given out yesterday to eight families in Taman Sri Jelok, Kajang, and one each in Taman Desa Mewah and Apartment Seri Permai in Semenyih.
The ad was distributed by MBI head of social responsibility and corporate communications Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor.
Selangorkini reported that each family received a financial assistance of RM2,000.
According to Azri, MBI will always care for the welfare of the people of Selangor, particularly victims of disasters.
“It is hoped that this contribution will at least offer some sort of relief to the recipients to carry on with their lives.
“The trials and tribulations that these victims face should not be borne alone. The whole community, together with the state government, will always be there to help,” he said on Facebook.
Separately, Azri said assistance will also be given to 20 local hawkers operating at the Pekaka Street Food venue in Seksyen 8, Kota Damansara.
This is after he was notified by Kota Damansara assemblyman Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim of a thunderstorm incident in the area yesterday.
Among other things, Azri said the storm had caused damage to the tents and equipment.
“I gie my assurance that MBI will provide assistance immediately after we receive the relevant documents pertaining to the incident.”
