HULU LANGAT, Aug 27 — The Ehsan Rahmah Sale (JER) which offers 30 per cent lower prices compared with regular market rates, benefits large families from low-income groups.
Housewife, Zaiton Ibrahim, 64, from Batu 11, Cheras said she often buys items at the Ehsan Rahmah Sale and said the sales helped cover the expenses of her large family including eight grandchildren.
“Often I will buy chicken, rice and oil, enough to save for our family. I live with my children and grandchildren, my son and I are single mothers,” he said.
He was met at the Ehsan Rahmah Sale organised and run by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) in Medan Sate Kajang, here, today.
“This cheap sale is very beneficial for big families like us with children, the chicken is quite cheap compared with prices elsewhere where it can reach RM18,” he said.
For Tan Chan Nyok, 66, from Bukit Mewah who went to the sale for the first time was excited to shop after being informed by a friend.
“Vegetables and eggs outside are expensive now, not enough for our big family of 10 people. Here, eggs are only RM10 and cheap,” he said.
The Ehsan Rahmah Saleoffers standard chicken at RM10 per pack, fresh meat at RM10 per pack and grade B eggs at RM10 per pack, fish at RM6 per pack, five kg of cooking oil at RM25 and five kg of rice at RM10.
