SHAH ALAM, Sept 9 — Twenty-five entrepreneurs registered under Platform Selangor (PLATS) were given the opportunity to participate in the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2023 held at Skypark Regional Aviation Centre here.

PLATS project manager Hazwani Sabudin said this allows selected entrepreneurs to showcase their products to visitors at the three-day event, which ends today.

They came under the auspices of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, she said.

“Ten of them are involved in the food and beverages industry, while the remaining are goods traders,” she said when met at SAS yesterday.

“MBI has provided subsidies on lot rentals to assist the entrepreneurs take their first step by participating in this prestigious event.”

Excited to be doing business at SAS 2023, El-Nikmat catering operator Adlil Rizwan Mohd Nasir said he is using the opportunity given to him to promote his product to more people, in a bid to expand his business.

“I started this catering business in 2019 after I quit my job as chef, which I had been involved in for 15 years.

“When I found this opportunity to be part of this SAS 2023 exhibition, I immediately registered with PLATS. Thank god I was selected.”

PLATS was first introduced by the state government in 2020, tasked with organising Malaysia’s first digital Ramadan bazaar to assist local petty traders who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The initiative was expanded a year later to provide assistance to entrepreneurs throughout the year, beyond the Muslim fasting month.

The initiative has continued with the cooperation of other agencies.
