MBSJ mulling lowering traffic compounds to RM10

SUBANG JAYA, Sept 26 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) is looking into reducing traffic compounds to a minimum of RM10 from October 1.

However, Mayor Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said the matter is still under discussion and will be confirmed later.

“We are considering compound payment of a minimum of RM10 from October 1, but we will discuss it in detail in the next committee meeting,” he said during a press conference after chairing a full board meeting at the MBSJ headquarters here today.

On a separate matter, Fauzi said the local council will be organising the Selangor Criterium Series X Subang Jaya 2023 cycling racing event.

He said the event will include two series, where the first will be held together with the MBSJ car-free day on October 1 and a “Series 2” scheduled for December.

“The sporting event aims to increase cycling activities in Selangor, especially among amateurs and semi-pros.

“I hope it will be a platform for local cyclists to keep growing,” he said.
