Potholes in MRR2 repaired, lanes fully open to traffic

SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 — The road repairs and pothole resurfacing works along the Kuala Lumpur Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) route from Kepong to Ampang are now completed.

The Gombak Public Works Department said the repairs were finished at 8pm yesterday, with the route now fully open to users.

“The repairs, which began at 1pm in the afternoon, was carried out by replacing the box culvert cover and resurfacing works,” it said in a Facebook post.

Yesterday, the department noted a sinkhole incident measuring nearly one metre deep, on the MRR2 route from Kepong to Ampang, which was caused by a damaged slab crossing culvert cover.

This resulted in nearly two kilometres of traffic congestion, with users heading towards Ampang advised to use the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway as an alternative route for smoother traffic flow while the repair works were being carried out.
