Construction of Sungai Sepang bridge to begin next year — Aminuddin

SEREMBAN, Oct 11 — The construction of a bridge across Sungai Sepang to link Bukit Pelandok, in Port Dickson, and Sungai Pelek, Sepang, Selangor,  is expected to begin next year, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

He told the State Assembly that the state government was in the process of acquiring the site for the project, as well as approval from the Selangor government as it also involved land acquisition in Selangor.

“When it involves two states, Selangor also has to do work, Negeri Sembilan also has to do work… we don’t seem to have any problems (working together), but there is land acquisition that needs to be looked at,” he added.

Aminuddin, who is also the executive councillor for state investment infrastructure, otility and public facilities action, was responding to a supplementary question from Yew Boon Lye (PH-Chuah) on the status of the proposed bridge road project.

Aminuddin said the road alignment for the project had been agreed upon by the Rural and Regional Ministry and tabled at the State Planning Meeting last Sept 19.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim when tabling the 2023 Budget was reported to have said that the government will build roads and bridges involving RM160 million, among other things, to reduce traffic congestion.
