SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — The Selangor Entrepreneur (Selbiz) Expo 2023, organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), aims to achieve over RM1 million in potential sales value during its second edition this year.

Its chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said this target exceeds the RM500,000 achieved by Selbiz last year.

“This year, we have 200 sales booths from various industries, and we are also targeting the presence of 15,000 visitors over the course of three days.

“It provides a platform for entrepreneurs to promote their brand and products and is an opportunity to expand their market to a higher level,” he said.

Mahmud was speaking at a press conference following the opening ceremony of Selbiz 2023 at the Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) today. State executive councillor for entrepreneurship Najwan Halimi inaugurated the event.

On his part, Najwan said the state government aims to make Selbiz an annual programme to assist more small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) entrepreneurs in Selangor.

He added the PKNS business expo is the best platform for SMEs to explore new potentials and build an entrepreneurial network.

“In Selangor, the basis of our economic strength is the SMEs. We want to demonstrate that the state is at the forefront of supporting and uplifting entrepreneurs,” Najwan said.

Selbiz 2023, which started yesterday and runs until tomorrow, features various programs including a coffee fiesta, lucky draws, a fun run, and entrepreneurial talks.

The concert this evening will feature popular artists, including Tomok, Ernie Zakri, Amir Masdi, Floor 88, and Ara Johari.

The inaugural Selbiz, held at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) in September last year, successfully attracted 149 exhibitors and 5,000 visitors.
