Water supply to areas affected by cut fully restored — Air Selangor

By Danial Dzulkifly

SHAH ALAM, Oct 12 – Water supply to areas that were hit by an unscheduled water supply disruption due to the odour pollution detected in Sungai Selangor has been fully recovered today, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

In a statement this morning, Air Selangor said the water supply to affected areas in Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, and Kuala Selangor was restored at 12am.

On Tuesday, the Sungai Selangor odour pollution incident led to the temporary halt of the Sungai Selangor Phase 1 (SSP1), Sungai Selangor Phase 2 (SSP2), Sungai Selangor Phase 3 (SSP3), and Rantau Panjang water treatment plants (WTPs), causing an unscheduled water cut.

Meanwhile, in the same statement, Air Selangor stated that the recovery of water supply to areas affected by the scheduled asset upgrading, maintenance, and replacement operations at the Sungai Langat WTP stands at 33.92 per cent as of 6am.

A list of areas still awaiting full restoration is detailed here.

Air Selangor said the timeline for water supply recovery would vary depending on the location and distance of the consumers’ premises.

For more information on the scheduled disruption, visit Air Selangor’s mobile app or its Facebook, Instagram, and X pages, or contact Air Selangor at 15300.

Any questions or complaints can also be submitted to the Help Centre at www.airselangor.com, and the Air Selangor app.
