Christopher Raj appointed 2023 U-17 World Cup media manager

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 — The Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) Communications and Media Committee chairman Christopher Raj has been appointed as the media manager of the 2023 Under-17 (U-17) World Cup scheduled in Indonesia from November 10 to December 2.

He is the second Malaysian to serve in the World Cup finals following Asian Football Confederation (AFC) secretary-general Datuk Seri Windsor Paul’s involvement in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Christopher’s duties include ensuring media operations run smoothly from November 5 until the final on December 2 at Manahan Stadium, Solo, one of the World Cup’s four venues.

14 matches will be held at the stadium, while other matches will be held at the three other venues, the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, the Jakarta International Stadium, and the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung.

Christopher, an AFC media committee member, previously served in other international championships, including the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the 2017 U-17 World Cup in India and the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States.
