KLANG, Nov 1 — The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project’s route, spanning 21.05 km, will pass through Klang and involve four local planning blocks.

Klang Municipal Council (MPK) President, Noraini Roslan, said the blocks include the Kapar Meru, Klang Utama, Sementa, and Sungai Klang routes.

“There are two passenger stations, the Kapar station and the Jalan Kastam station. The land use change study involves 1.5 km on both sides of the route.

“Additionally, the state government has approved the ECRL project route proposal’s land use change, referring to the decision of the 39th Selangor State Executive Council meeting on November 17, 2021,” she said.

Noraini was speaking at the Draft RT MPK 2035 (Amendment 1) publicity and public participation programme at the council’s headquarters yesterday.

One of the RT amendments’ objectives is to address flood disaster issues and align with MPK’s elevation to city status.

Asides from public reach out, she said the programme, running from October 18 to November 16, aims to welcome input from various parties on the draft RT.

Reviews of the MPK 2035 draft local plan can be viewed in the main lobbies of the council, PLANMalaysia Selangor, the State Secretariat Building, and at MPK’s portal.

“Any opinions, suggestions, and objections can be submitted directly to MPK via the Urban and Rural Planning Department before or on November 16,” she said.
