By Yasmin Ramlan

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 – Voters in Selangor made the right decision to vote in the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (Harapan-BN) coalition in the recent state election, according to Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

This has ensured that stability and peace can be maintained in the state.

He said the victory in the August 12 polls also proved a majority of rakyat recognised the commendable track record of the state government in championing the rights of and empowering the people.

Specifically, Amirudin noted the public’s overwhelming positive response to initiatives under Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) during his previous tour of the state.

“A lot of people were praising the state’s initiatives like Roda Darul Ehsan, Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas), and Anak Istimewa Selangor (AnIS), among other things.

“This was proven in the state election last year when voters in Selangor chose the Unity Government, which has a track record in safeguarding the people’s well-being, championing the rights of the underprivileged, and remaining steadfast in its commitment to implementing ISP.

“I am confident Selangor’s people have made the right decision in ensuring the state continues to be safe, peaceful, and stable,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking during the tabling of the 2024 Selangor Budget in the State Legislative Assembly today.

During the Selangor election on August 12, the Harapan-BN alliance won 34 of the 56 state seats, allowing them to form the new state government with a simple majority.

Harapan secured victory in 32 seats, while BN won two. Opposition coalition Perikatan Nasional, on the other hand, won the remaining 22 seats.
