Malaysia to host Mobile Legends’ M6 World Championship in coming year

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 18 — Malaysia is set to become the centre of attention for global e-sports enthusiasts next year as it will host the ​​Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M6 World Championship.

The announcement was made by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports (KBS) Adam Adli Abd Halim when concluding his speech at the 2023 M5 World Championship Grand Finals in Manila, the Philippines, yesterday.

Adam said he was proud to announce that it would be one of the country’s most important events, thus inviting all e-sports fans around the world to Malaysia.

“As we gather here to celebrate the M5 grand finals, I am thrilled to announce that Malaysia will be the proud host of the M6 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship in 2024. This marks the second time Malaysia will host the championship, following the successful hosting of the M1 in 2019.

“This achievement isn’t just for a single person but for all Malaysians, we made it. M6 will be a momentous occasion for our nation, and we are eager to welcome players, fans, and e-sports enthusiasts from across the globe to experience the unmatched hospitality and passion that Malaysia has to offer,” he said.

A total of 16 teams competed in the M5 World Championship, which took place in Manila from December 2 until yesterday.

Malaysian representatives Team SMG and Homebois did not pass the group stage.
