By Danial Dzulkifl

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that the Madani Government tour will start in Selangor this coming January, which is aimed to share and promote the new policies and initiatives of the Federal administration.

Speaking at the closing of the Madani Government One Year Anniversary Programme, Anwar said the tour reflects the government’s commitment to providing the public with factual information.

“The tour is scheduled to begin in January, starting with Selangor, following discussions with Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

“We intend to extend some of the activities featured at the Madani one-year anniversary event to all the states. This would allow us to provide the necessary information of our policies, countering misinformation with facts,”  Anwar said at the three-day event at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, here today.

Anwar also emphasised in his speech the significance of political accountability — including his own — and the role played by local leaders in ensuring the successful implementation of government policies and initiatives.

“I advocate for the practice of democratic accountability, where leaders at all levels must answer for their actions. This includes local leaders and village chiefs, who play a crucial role in successfully implementing government policies,” he said.

On his part, Anwar cited the Prime Minister’s Question Time, which is held every Tuesday during parliament sessions, for him to respond to questions raised by members of parliament.

Meanwhile, Anwar also touched on the Madani government’s commitment to bringing about a major paradigm shift in how the country’s socio economic norms are structurally implemented.

“While not everything is perfect, we are initiating a significant shift that requires the courage to depart from old methods for the well-being of the people,” he added.

The Madani One Year Anniversary event took place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium from December 8 to December 10.
