Showcasing prowess: Sidec led 10 local startups to Meet Taipei 2023

SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — The Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) led a delegation of Malaysia’s 10 most innovative startups to Taiwan for Asia’s largest international startup exhibition, Meet Taipei 2023. 

Sidec chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping described these Malaysian trailblazers as the best examples of ingenuity in sectors such as advanced technology, artificial intelligence, sustainable energy, net-zero solutions, and groundbreaking biotechnology. 

“Participating in Meet Taipei 2023 is a significant milestone for Sidec and our talented Selangor Accelerator Programme (SAP23) winners,” he said, referring to the 10 victors at this year’s SAP. 

“This platform (exhibition) not only showcases Malaysia’s technological prowess but also opens doors for international collaborations and knowledge exchange, pivotal for our thriving digital economy,” he said in a statement today. 

Meet Taipei 2023 took place from November 30 to December 2 at the Nangang Exhibition Centre in Taipei. 

According to Yong, the participation of the 10 local startups underscored Malaysia’s commitment to fostering a dynamic tech ecosystem while positioning the SAP23 winners as frontrunners in the international tech arena. 

The 10 winners that were part of the Malaysian delegation to Meet Taipei 2023 were:

  2. Dreamory Entertainment Group Sdn Bhd
  3. Biib from Neupulse Sdn Bhd
  4. Mysyarikat from Byond Tech Global Bhd
  5. Gotechup from Tech Up Advance Sdn Bhd
  6. Maeko from Mentari Alam EKO (M) Sdn Bhd
  7. Braintree Technologies Sdn Bhd
  8. Midwest Composites Sdn Bhd
  9. Ultimeat (M) Sdn Bhd
  10. Bio Tree Pharmaceutical (Int’l) Sdn Bhd. 

The SAP23, organised by Sidec and supported by Invest Selangor Bhd, aims to identify and nurture high-potential startups in Malaysia.
