In a statement today, the state subsidiary said the appointment is in line with the company’s aspiration to further enhance Selangor’s profile at the international level.

The statement quoted Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari as saying that His Highness’ involvement in promoting state investment aligns with the administration’s vision to sustainably improve the economy in terms of resources and social development.

“The Raja Muda of Selangor’s consent to become the royal patron is a grand recognition and the highest form of encouragement for Invest Selangor to multiply its efforts to attract more high-quality domestic and international investments to establish their presence here.

“This is crucial to provide more high-paying job opportunities for Selangor residents,” he said.

Invest Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris said with the state investment arm now under the patronage of Tengku Amir Shah, he is confident it will invigorate and strengthen the company’s long-term strategies and aspirations to promote Selangor as the premier investment destination in Southeast Asia.

“We are proud that His Highness has consented to accept this appointment,” he said.
