SUBANG JAYA, Dec 2 — Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah attended the Malaysian AIDS Foundation’s (MAF) Red Ribbon Gala yesterday evening, in support of its victims.
His Royal Highness was welcomed by MAF chairman Prof Datuk Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman and its patron Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, at the Sunway Resort Hotel.
The gala, in conjunction with MAF’s 30th-anniversary celebrations, successfully raised over RM1.8 million through table sales and contributions from various donors.

In her speech, Adeeba said the funds play a crucial role in supporting programmes for treating the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
“This contribution will be channelled through the Medical Assistance Scheme, and we guarantee this aid will reach and be focused on those with AIDS who are in need.
“We thank the contributors, including Karex Berhad, Berjaya Corporation Berhad, Pertama Digital Berhad, and PEMANDU Associates,” she said.
In a related development, Adeeba welcomed the cooperation from the Social Security Organisation (Socso), which supports efforts to help individuals with HIV return to work, in line with MAF’s policy.
Earlier, approximately 400 guests, consisting of MAF corporate partners and contributors, attended the event.
They were also entertained with performances by artists like Anuar Zain and Zahid AF.
