SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 — The main monsoon drain repair work along Jalan Wawasan in Taman Wawasan, Puchong, has commenced and reached 9.3 per cent as of yesterday.
The Subang Jaya City Council’s (MBSJ) corporate and strategic management department said the repairs involve an 83-metre broken drain section.
“The installation of steel piles has reached 100 per cent, while the repair work on the main drain has reached 9.3 per cent and is being actively continued according to the established plan.
“For the permanent stabilisation involving reconstructing the main ditch and road structures, its completion is estimated to be within 30 weeks from the date of the temporary repair works completion,” it said in a statement.
A meeting between Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim and residents was held yesterday to provide a briefing on the landslide improvement progress.
“The meeting involves nine houses represented by 13 residents, along with the consultants involved in the project.
“MBSJ has also temporarily relocated three families affected by this disaster to the Permata Sari Apartments in Taman Wawasan,” said the department.
Yesterday, Kinrara state assemblyman Ng Sze Han said 775 piles had been installed to ensure slope stability.
On December 16, 29 residents in nine terrace houses in the affected area were directed to relocate for safety reasons following a landslide near their residences.
The incident, which occurred along Jalan Wawasan 3/9 and Jalan Wawasan 3/14 at around 7.30pm, resulted in four vehicles being buried, with no casualties reported.
