SHAH ALAM, Jan 14 — The Women’s Leadership Academy, which was introduced in 2020 to empower women has produced 280 graduates, so far.

State executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Saari said the graduates underwent a 15-month political and social work field course to enhance their leadership skills.

“The graduates were from the first to the third cohorts and the new session for the fourth cohort is just opening.

“Participants can gain knowledge and skills at the Women’s Leadership Academy and receive financial aid or scholarships from the State Government,” Anfaal said after officiating at the Women’s Imaarah and Civil Family Council here today.

The Women’s Leadership Academy is a programme sponsored by the Selangor Government to strengthen the skills of women aged between 21 and 45 to act as a ‘channel’  towards producing more women leaders in the field of politics and social work.

The four main learning modules are soft and organizational skills, gender awareness, political and economic leadership and communication skills.

Classes are held every Wednesday after working hours from 6pm to 9pm at the Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS).
