GOMBAK, March 10 — The Citizen E-Payment (CEPat) centralised electronic payment application has recorded 2.5 million transactions involving a total of 218,000 users as of February.

Smart Selangor Delivery Unit (SSDU) director Ahmad Akmal Hamzah said that in an effort to draw in more registered users, the programme is stepping up its advertising with local authorities and government agencies.

“The figures indicate a significant increase compared to February last year, which recorded a total of 103,000 users and 1.4 million transactions.

“We are targeting 300,000 users this year. SSDU will also organise more attractive contests and promote (the app) on our official social media platforms to meet the target,” he said when met after the prize-giving ceremony for the CEPat-CEPat Menang (Win Quick) Contest at the Melawati Shopping Centre, here yesterday.

Launched on August 1, 2019, CEPat offers several services, including licence applications, assessment tax payments, compounds, parking, and utility bill payments.

To date, 62 services are offered in the application, covering 11 local authorities and seven payment channels available.

The cashless transaction app can be downloaded via PlayStore for Android users and AppStore for iOS.
