SHAH ALAM, March 14 — The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) distributed 5,000 containers of bubur lambuk from Kampung Baru to employees and the public in conjunction with the Ramadan fasting month.

Its deputy chief executive officer (corporate) Suhaimi Kasdon said the traditional event, which has been held for the past two decades, is an annual activity during Ramadan.

“For this year, RM40,700 was allocated for the programme, with Koperasi PKNS Berhad tasked with coordinating the bubur lambuk distribution,” he said.

Suhaimi was speaking during the Bubur Lambuk Kasih PKNS launching ceremony today, where 1,000 servings were distributed to employees and 500 to the public at PKNS’ sales gallery complex.

The second distribution of 500 servings will occur on March 19 at the same location, with three more sessions for PKNS members using the same quantity.

“This is our appreciation to the general public, especially visitors to Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam, who have made this shopping centre their preferred location for Hari Raya Aidilfitri necessities,” he said.

PKNS also distributed Kasih Ramadan Supplies packages containing basic necessities, including cooking oil, rice, sugar, sardines, and soy sauce, to disabled persons (OKU).

Suhaimi said the recipients include 65 visually impaired families who are members of the Society for the Advancement of the Blind (PPOBM).

“Similar to last year, various corporate social responsibility initiatives via the PKNS Ramadan Kasih programme are organised to provide opportunities for us to share our blessings with the less fortunate and the community at large,” he said.
