Sultan Sharafuddin breaks fast with UiTM staff, students

SHAH ALAM, March 29 — Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj today attended a breaking of fast event with staff and students of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam at Masjid Al-Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin here.

Sultan Sharafuddin was accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.

The royal couple’s arrival at 6.30pm was welcomed by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, UiTM chairman Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Raduan Che Rose and UiTM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Shahrin Sahib @ Sahibuddin.

Also at the event, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin presented Aidilfitri donations amounting to RM20,000, from UiTM’s Zakat, Charity and Endowment (ZAWAF) Division, to 100 asnaf students.

The royal couple then participated in a tahlil recital, led by Mohd Faizan Tajuid, Senior Assistant Registrar (Islamic Affairs) of the Islamic Affairs Division of UiTM Shah Alam.

After breaking their fast, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin then performed Maghrib, Isyak and Tarawih prayers with the congregation at the mosque.
