Taman Wawasan landslide stabilisation work to complete in seven months

SUBANG JAYA, March 26 — The slope stabilisation work at the landslide area along Jalan Wawasan in Taman Wawasan, now in its second phase, is expected to be completed within six to seven months.

Subang Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has identified the landowner as Wawasan Indera Sdn Bhd, and it has agreed to bear the entire cost of the stabilisation works.

“The developer will fully take over the repair work, and it will be carried out promptly. We ask the local residents to be patient as the takeover process is underway,” he said.

Fauzi was speaking to the press today after chairing MBSJ’s full monthly meeting at its headquarters.

The landslide, which occurred on December 16 last year, forced 29 occupants in nine terrace houses in the area to evacuate due to safety concerns and close proximity to the site.

It also resulted in four vehicles being buried, with no fatalities reported.
