Gaza development fund collects over RM2 mln by March — Amirudin

SHAH ALAM, April 10 — The Selangor-Gaza Ehsan Development Fund has collected over RM2 million in March since its launch in the same month, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The state government aims to collect as much as RM8.7 million, to be utilised through the implementation of several development projects, namely the construction of the Darul Ehsan Apartment, Masjid Darul Ehsan Mosque, the Darul Ehsan Water Tank Tower.

He expressed admiration for the generosity shown by the community in supporting the state government’s initiative to help rebuild the Gaza strip in Palestine.

“We hope this high spirit of humanity will continue to blossom in us, which is not only limited within our state and locality or people we know, but rather with a universal spirit of humanity which brings prosperity and happiness,” Amirudin said.

The Menteri Besar was speaking via a video message in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations on his official Facebook page today.

On March 28, in conjunction with Nuzul Qu’ran, Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj launched the fund during Masjid Kota Kemuning’s opening ceremony, donation presentation and fast-breaking with the people.
