MB urges Selangor residents to preserve unity amid division attempts

SHAH ALAM, Apr 9 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari urged the people of Selangor to uphold unity and togetherness despite attempts by certain factions to sow discord for their own personal agendas.

In his Hari Raya Aidilfitri address today, he highlighted the significance of preserving togetherness and moderation in Selangor.

“We must continue to uphold this moderation not only through our actions but also through our common sense and thoughts so our children inherit similar values and morals, which will enable them to cultivate a dignified and visionary generation.

“Let us fully utilise the friendship and brotherhood we have cultivated over time, as advocated by our (respective) religious teachings.

“We must maintain this sense of togetherness in Selangor, especially during moments when certain groups attempt to sow doubt or discord among us for the personal agendas of a few individuals,” Amirudin said.

This was evident throughout the holy month of Ramadan, with prosperity, unity, and moderation observed during the final nights of the month in mosques across Selangor.

Yesterday, the Menteri Besar welcomed the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s decree to continue advancing the state’s economy, positioning it at the forefront of Malaysia’s development.

Amirudin added that the harmonious environment among the people in Selangor should not be taken for granted but instead continuously preserved and championed.

In the address, he also expressed gratitude to all Selangor residents for their contributions, which led to the state government’s successful revenue collection in the first quarter of this year.

This achievement has enabled the provision of a one-month salary bonus, known as ‘Insentif Khas Aidilfitri Kita Selangor,’ to 21,736 state government civil servants on April 8.

Furthermore, this initiative is also extended to teachers, including 4,350 Kafa teachers who received RM1,000 each in Bantuan Mahabbah Ramadan and RM500 each to 1,600 ‘guru rakyat.’

“These initiatives involved RM48.46 million for the benefit of Selangor’s people,” Amirudin said.
