No place for agents provocateurs in Selangor — MB

SHAH ALAM, Apr 8 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has welcomed the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj’s decree to continue advancing the state’s economy, positioning it at the forefront of Malaysia’s development.

In response to the speech delivered by His Royal Highness during Masjid Damansara Perdana’s launch on Friday (April 5), which emphasised the importance of prioritising the interests of Selangor’s people regardless of race or religion to prevent negative prejudices, he pointed out the necessity for this principle to apply to all, regardless of political ideologies.

“As the Menteri Besar responsible for continuously advancing Selangor to maintain its position as the forefront state in Malaysia’s economy, I express my gratitude for His Royal Highness’s decree and my commitment to upholding it.

“I guarantee that His Royal Highness’ call, which serves as one of the driving forces for complete cooperation within the unity coalition representing all Selangorians, will continue to be upheld and strengthened.

“His Royal Highness’ decree should serve as a guiding principle for all parties, transcending political ideologies, wherein no one should abuse religion for personal gain or hidden agenda, as this could jeopardise harmony among the people in Selangor,” Amirudin said in a statement today.

During the launch, Sultan Sharafuddin expressed the desire for the Malays, especially in Selangor, to continue on the path of unity and to strengthen harmony in the state’s multiracial and multireligious society.

His Royal Highness was also moved by the unity, cooperation, and concern displayed by Malays. He stated that the spirit of unity and cooperation fostered needed to be defended and worked on to ensure a more developed and progressive Selangor.

Reiterating the same sentiment, the Menteri Besar said the harmonious environment among the people in Selangor should not be taken for granted but instead continuously preserved and championed.

“This effort is crucial for ensuring the state’s stability and peace, both for the present and for the benefit of future generations.

“There is no place for agents provocateurs in Selangor,” Amirudin said.
