AMPANG, April 6 — The implementation of over 40 welfare initiatives through Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) is a testament to the state government’s commitment to bridging the socioeconomic gaps of the people.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said Selangor is currently the state with the most number of initiatives meant to alleviate the rakyat’s burden.
He pointed out that these initiatives encompass various critical aspects, including education, health and economy.
“All of these are implemented with the hope that the state can fill the voids within the community. This is in line with the administration’s desire to create a state full of compassion and love.
“What we are doing is focusing on those who are truly in need, ensuring that the funds reach them.
“Among other things, we have increased the cash assistance under Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor from RM200 to RM300, and doubled the Jom Shopping vouchers to RM200,” he said during a ceremony to distribute Hari Raya Aidilfitri donations, courtesy of Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), to 500 residents of Hulu Kelang, here, today.
When Pakatan Harapan secured state power in 2008, the Selangor government provided seven welfare programmes under the theme Merakyatkan Ekonomi Negeri.
It was later increased to 43 initiatives under Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat in 2017, before it was reduced to 33.
Under ISP, the state now offers 46 welfare programmes with an allocation of over RM600 million a year.
