Bersih 5.0: Protest against malpractices in our electoral system

BY: NAZLI IBRAHIM
SHAH ALAM, SEP 9: The Bersih 5.0 rally, expected to be held in November, can be seen as a benchmark of the public’s protest against the shortcomings of the country’s electoral system.
Sekinchan Assemblyman Ng Suee Lim said the rakyat must take this opportunity, especially now as the country is facing various crisis and scandals.
“I support Bersih 5 to be held this November to create awareness to the rakyat on the shortcomings of our electoral system, which should actually be clean and fair but have been tainted with malpractices.
“This includes illegally transferring voters, thereby contravening the Constitution,” he said to SelangorKini.
At the same time, Ng said that the assembly is also a medium for the rakyat to continue to express their protest against the 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.
Earlier, Bersih Chairman Maria Chin Abdullah had announced that Bersih 5.0 will be held this coming November.
However the date will be announced later.
