Federal and state roads are constantly monitored

SHAH ALAM, NOV 7: The State Government remains committed to ensure that all federal and state roads are well maintained for the safety of road users.
Infrastructure, Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-Based Industries Exco Zaidy Abdul Talib said the maintenance of federal and state roads is by long term contract basis that includes routine maintenance, pavement scale and non-pavement scale.
“The pavement research programme implementation is a scientific method that systematically analyses the strength, durability and damage of roads.

“State road maintenance work will be done based on priority determined through the study.
“The entire cost of routine maintenance, pavement scale and non-pavement scale for 2015 for the Klang Banting Port Dickson road is over RM3.9 million,” he said in replying a question regarding the State Government’s plan to ensure that fedral and state roads are maintained well by Telok Datok Assemblyman Loh Chee Heng.
Zaidy said the Selangor Public Works Department (JKR) has published a guideline regarding best practices in road tarring and maintenance that has been distributed to all JKR officers as reference while doing onsite maintenance monitoring.
“The specifications for building and repairing roads will always be improved.
The Malaysian JKR headquarters also constantly updates the road building and maintenance specifications done by their expert groups,” he said.
