BY: LIZAWATI MADFA
SHAH ALAM, NOV 15: Inaction and impunity against gangsters will bring disastrous consequences to the country.
Perlis Mufti Datuk Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin said that it will also lead to public’s distrust in the country’s laws.
He said, every citizen who loves the country must fight gangsterism from becoming rampant.
“If we allow gangsters to dictate, attack and hit anyone they like, the country will become chaotic.
“The public no longer trust in the sanctity of law.
“Preventing gangsters from acting as they wish is a responsibility of all patriotic citizens,” he said in his official Facebook page yesterday.
He however did not mention any names in the status which received over 10,000 ‘likes’.
Since last month, the Red Shirt group led by Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos has been creating trouble for the Bersih convoy.
Recently, Jamal, who is also the Sungai Besar Umno Chief, got a bleeding nose during the scuffle with the police in Ampang.
